What Canada eSchool offers?

Canada eSchool offers classes on-line for everyone; including regular day school students, mature students, international students, as well as students with health related issues that keep them from attending conventional classrooms. We can assist students who require a course that is not available in their local school. Our school also works with many public schools, private schools, international schools, tutoring centres and various other institutions (i.e. treatment centers, hospitals and group homes), to assist students that require flexible start dates and the ability to set a modified pace in their course. Students must register for courses directly through a participating institution.

How our Courses work

All of the course assignments are located on a website. There are also discussion boards on the site where the student will communicate with the instructor and classmates. Each course is scheduled to take 3 months to complete (a 90 minute activity completed once per day from Monday-Friday). The student could however set their own pace and hours for working on their course, he/she can do their schoolwork at 11 pm if it suits them.
The teacher manages the class just like an in-class course, and will respond to any student emails within 24 hours Monday to Friday. Evaluation assignments are returned within 7 business days. In addition, each teacher has live online office hours once per week through Skype. Our teachers can also work in liaison with a student′s regular teacher, tutor and/or support staff at their local school to better ensure student success.

Student Start Dates

eSchool operates on a weekly registration cycle. Any students that have registered by Friday at 5 pm, will start their course on the following Wednesday after 6 pm, providing that all the required documents and tuition fees have been received.

Accreditation

Our school is registered and inspected by the Ministry of Education in Ontario. All of our courses are constructed in accordance with the Program Planning and Assessment Guide as provided by the Ministry. Our Ministry of Education Identification number is 667670. Report Cards and Transcripts

If a student is currently enrolled in another high school program, we will automatically forward their midterm/final marks to their home school after the report card has been issued. Report cards are issued on a customized timeline that corresponds with the percentage of course work a student has completed. Students will receive a midterm report card when they have completed the first 50% of their course, and a final report card when they have completed 100% of the course work, their Independent Study Unit, and their final exam.
If a student is not currently attending another Ontario high school program, the student or legal Guardian (if the student is under 18 years of age), must complete a Consent for the Release of Information form. This form gives eSchool permission to request the student's existing Ontario Student Record, and update their official Ontario Student Transcript as he/she completes a course. eSchool will create a new Ontario Student Record and Ontario Student Transcript for students that have never previously attended an Ontario high school.
Final Exams

Students must be supervised while writing their final exam, and require access to a computer and the Internet. Under normal circumstances, each student books his/her own exam supervisor. Exams must be supervised by an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certified teacher. If one is not available other measures can be reviewed on a case by case basis.
